Prof. Vassilis Hadjianastassiou DM, FEBS, BM Bch(Oxon), FRCS

Consultant Vascular Surgeon

Professor Vassilis Hadjianastassiou graduated from Oxford University, from where he also obtained his post graduate doctorate His surgical training was completed in both the Oxford and London Deaneries. He was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospitals in 2008; three years later he was recruited by the Cyprus Ministry of Health and as Medical Director of Transplantation rescheduled organ transplantation in Cyprus. He has recently returned to the UK, and is currently Consultant Surgeon at St. Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals.

He is an accredited General and Vascular Surgeon, and his surgical expertise cover all aspects of vascular surgery including carotid surgery for stroke, minimally invasive aneurysm repair and surgery for peripheral vascular disease. He has a particular interest in the management of varicose veins and laparo scopic repair of hernias.

Professor Hadjianastassiou is involved in continuous medical education and is an examiner in surgery for both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the European Board of Surgery. He has published widely and regularly lectures at International meetings.
